Course Format

Participants gain insights into practical approaches to carrying out their responsibilities as directors, including:
  • Understanding the roles of Crowns, Agencies, Boards and Commissions and the dynamic between the board and government shareholders
  • Develop a deeper understanding of how to balance Crown business objectives, fiduciary duty and government policy objectives
  • Gain insight into the accountability expectations of stakeholders and the public and how to best manage them
  • Learn strategies on how to manage the triangular relationship between the board, CEO and government
Topics are covered through a combination of instructor-led learning, group work, and case studies.

The program faculty – made up of a lead instructor as well as seasoned Directors-in-residence – deliver a combination of technical knowledge and experience that together will facilitate a rich learning environment and provide multiple perspectives and insights on key issues.
