Corporate Governance – Where are we today?

For the first time since February 2020, the ICD Manitoba Chapter membership is gathering in one room! Our first event of the 2022-23 season will be a very special occasion. Not only will we get to see each other in person, but we will have the opportunity for an interactive discussion about the current state of governance in Canada with one of our country’s leaders in that arena – ICD President and CEO Rahul Bhardwaj. 

The last 30 months have seen massive changes worldwide, including Canada. As a result, the environment in which we serve as Board Directors has been significantly altered in all sectors. Board table discussions often bear little resemblance to the topics on agendas three to five years ago. On September 14th, we will engage in a wide-ranging conversation about governance in this new era, how governance has changed in recent years, and where we may be heading. With his unique position as a governance leader in Canada and as Chair of GNDI, Mr. Bhardwaj will share with us both the Canadian and Global perspectives on such topics as the impact of Covid-19, the ESG movement, shareholder/stakeholder activism, global unrest, inflation, and other new governance developments.
