Directors’ Defences - Regina

Congratulations - you have just been offered a board seat on an entity you know does important work in the community, though not without its challenges. As you contemplate the entity’s current state, future strategy, and your role in addressing the challenges/risks facing the organization, are there other matters you may wish to consider? In this session, we will review areas of potential liability, including personal liability. We’ll discuss in a practical context how you can best ensure that you are protected and what types of defenses are available to you as a director should problems arise. The session is designed to be interactive, allowing maximum group questions/discussion.
 
In this session we will:

• Review areas of director liability
• Discuss the 5 main areas of directors’ defences
• Tell you how to dissent if you really need to go that far
• When you can (and cannot) resign

Cancellations must be received in writing 48 hrs prior to the date of the event to be eligible for a full refund.
If you register for an event and do not attend, you are liable for the full event fee. If you are unable to attend, you may transfer your ticket to someone else. However, please note that should your replacement have a different membership status and there is a price differential, you will be either credited or charged the balance.
