NFP Boards: Responding to Emergent and Post-Pandemic Realities
Good Governance demands that Boards always invest the time and resources to ensure the financial and reputational sustainability of their organizations. The unprecedented challenges imposed and exposed by the Pandemic, as well as increased pressure to ensure the safety of participants, staff and volunteers, have heightened this responsibility.
Boards are sensing the need to reassess assumptions, revisit operating models and risk mitigation processes, evaluate strategies and launch transformational plans despite ongoing uncertainties.
Every Board is obligated to ensure that their NFP can sustain the outcomes and impacts embodied in their Mission, Vison, and Values. But the environment has changed dramatically –so, now might be the time to reconsider the fit between the fundamentals and an organization’s legacy operating model and risk mitigation strategies / tactics.
