Bullying & Harassment in the Workplace: The Board’s Role
Sometimes there is no checklist. Boards deal with ambiguity because many governance challenges require judgement rather than mere compliance to detailed regulations. When faced with “director dilemmas,” definitive information may not always be available, and a distinct course of action may not always be clear. Learn from your peers and experienced board members as you tackle, discuss options and work through real-world boardroom challenges.
Join us at this interactive event focused on a difficult issue that can sometimes confront boards -- concerns about potential bullying and harassment in the workplace. In this fictional case study, the questions are compounded by confidential information received by a board member. The questions apply equally to for-profit and not-for-profit boards. Through a series of questions, attendees, with the support of an experienced director at each table, will deliberate on options and discuss possible actions the board could take to avert a crisis.
The session will be guided by a moderator who will take participants through the peer-to-peer discussions and will also provide additional insights on the issues raised in the case study and, more generally, on the board’s role.
