Honourable John Manley, P.C., O.C.

The ICD Fellowship designation is the highest distinction the ICD confers on corporate directors. It was established in 1997 to honour individuals who have made outstanding contributions to Canadian enterprises and not-for-profit organizations through their governance leadership in Canadian boardrooms.
According to Rahul Bhardwaj, ICD President and CEO, since the outbreak of the pandemic, Canada’s corporate directors have experienced a significant increase in expectations of corporations with respect to their impact on society, and more broadly, the planet. “Fulfilling these expectations starts with best-in-class governance,” he says.
“The ICD is honoured to recognize the achievements of these four accomplished directors who not only meet, but exceed these expectations.”
The governance muscle of organizations has been put to the test like never before. True to form, boards and directors across the country have risen to the challenge
Nominated by their peers, the Inductees are reviewed by a Selection Committee that includes highly respected individuals from Canada’s director community. In addition to demonstrated leadership on the boards on which they serve, other contributions to excellence in governance are considered, such as thought leadership, and education and mentorship activities.
These honourees now bear the Institute of Corporate Directors Fellow designation (F.ICD). They join a prestigious group of exemplary directors, who together demonstrate leadership in line with the ICD's mission to improve trust and confidence in Canadian organizations.
